25.4. We added a variant of our well established Pig Hoff pedal - Pig Hoof MkII.
11.4. Rob O'Block has finished The Wall tour of his band, he was using our Pig Hoof, and he sent two fresh new videos that you can find at the Pig Hoof page.
There is a waiting list for our pedals at the moment. New orders for Moon Vibe MkII can't be completed before June, 2013. New orders for our other pedals can't be completed before November, 2013.
Genuine Pig Face is an exact replica of the legendary 60's silicon Fuzz Face by Dallas Arbiter. Fuzz Face is simply a legend. The clever, simple design provides a rich, thick, fuzzy sound with long sustain as well as the possibility to effectively control the amount of fuzz by the guitar volume knob.
They were consecutively manufactured with germanium (late 60's - Jimi Hendrix first 5 albums, Pink Floyd, Cream ...) and silicon (early 70's - Jimi Hendrix band of Gybsys, Pink Floyd Meddle to WYWH ...) transistors.
Comparing to the germanium, the silicon transistors are less noisy and their behaviour is not dependant on the temperature. They have also massive gain, which means that they are great deal fuzzier but also prone to oscillate while turned all the way up. The sound they provide bites a bit more than the smooth germanium. The silicon Faces are also more vulnerable to receive the unwanted radio transmission.
Fuzz Face circuits suffer from the same flaw as Tonebenders, Rangemasters and some other 60's pedals - that is an extremely low input impedance. This low input impedance drives wah-wah pedals nuts (wah-wah pedals don't like to be fed to a low impedance input at all). Wah pedals then either don't work properly or oscillate.
The best way to help it is:
- to place such a wah pedal after the Face
- to install a buffer to the output of the wah circuit
Original units used by: Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton (Cream) a dozens of other heroes
Controls: Volume, Fuzz
Contemporary trend: LED, DC socket, True Bypass ON/OFF foot switch
Sound samples
Hand crafted Strat guitar by P. Jurkovic My amateur take on Time, GPF set to full blast.
chords - bridge pickup fuzz cleaned by guitar volume
lead - bridge pickup, fuzz at max
Les Paul standard 1977 to VOX AC15 The amp gain is turned to the max, GPF set to the max - this causes the sound to get over-saturated.

Running the vintage stompboxes:
Companies like Boss or Ibanez (and others) employ in their pedals a special switching system that uses buffers. These buffers are engaged even if the pedal is turned off. This fact have a major impact on the vintage unit's sound that is placed right behind it. This applies mainly to tuners, as they are usually placed at the first position in the effect chain. Place such a tuner in a loop switch or put it behind the vintage unit.
The price includes:
10V battery
Cliff foot switch
true bypass switching
low capacity jack sockets by Cliff
hight quality battery clips by Cliff
NOS electrolyte capacitors that follow the specs of the original parts
NOS original Mullard "Tropical Fish" output capacitor
NOS carbon component resistors
handpicked pair of BC108C or BC109C transistors
identical circuit board
thick wires for the maximum sound fidelity and overall durability
shielded input and output wires
firm and durable internal design
this pedal has been tuned to sound identical to a late 70's original Ram's Head
The battery life will be extended by unplugging the instrument jack when the pedal is not in use. Plugging in a wall wart jack also disconnect the battery and saves its life.
