Pig Hoof is a replica of the Big Muff П (BMP) model, that was manufactured by Electro Harmonix in the late 70's under nickname "Ram's Head". If you are into the Big Muff history we advise you to visit this brilliant and comprehensive Kitrae's site. As David Gilmour devoted fans, we were just obliged to make our own Ram's Head clone. David purchased his model in around 1975 in Manny's, NY. In 1977 (during the Animals tour) the Ram's became his main distortion pedal, retiring the old silicon Fuzz Face for good. Since we were lucky enough to put our fingers on an original Ram's Head unit, we used that opportunity to gradually tweak the sound of our own prototype, so that it eventually sounded identical to the old guy.
Original units used by: late David Gilmour, Santana, Black Keys and tons of the other heroes
Controls: Volume, Tone, Sustain
Contemporary trend: LED, DC socket, True Bypass ON/OFF foot switch

Bjorn from gilmourish.com demonstrates our Pig Hoof.
He says: "This is a demo of the Electronic Orange Pig Hoof played over Pink Floyd's Mother (extended 1980-81 live version). I'm using a Fender CIJ '65 reissue Stratocaster with EMG DG20 pickups into a Laney Cub12 15w stack and adding a Boss CS2 compressor, (Pig Hoof), ThroBak Overdrive Boost, EHX Deluxe Electric Mistress, Boss RT20 and delay in the mix. Download the backingtrack on my site www.gilmourish.com."
